Tom Morello will host the inaugural Power To The People Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Saturday, October 3. Morello put together a blockbuster lineup for an event described as “a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action” led by Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez and Jack Black.
Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Serj Tankian, Brittany Howard, Taylor Momsen, The Linda Lindas, Darryl McDaniels, Matt Cameron, grandson and The Neighborhood Kids are also set to perform at the debut of Power To The People Festival.
Jack Black will be joined at the event by Roman Morello, Revel Ian, Yoyoka Soma and Hugo Weiss. Additionally, Shepard Fairey will spin a DJ set. Springsteen is set to accompany Morello and his band for a few songs.
“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll,” said curator and festival performer Tom Morello. “It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”
