Foo Fighters brought their Take Cover Tour to Nashville on Saturday for the final concert at the current Nissan Stadium. The show featured a memorable moment when the band welcomed actor/musician Shane West to guide them through a cover of The Germs’ “Manimal.”

Fans withstood 100-degree plus heat at Nissan Stadium to watch Foo Fighters’ 26-song performance. While the show marked the band’s venue debut, it also marked the end of live music at the 27-year-old stadium. A new Nissan Stadium is set to open in February 2027.

The “Manimal” performance came during a segment of songs from frontman Dave Grohl’s bandmates’ past projects. Guitarist Pat Smear is a founding member of The Germs.

“A long long time ago in a galaxy far away, I bought my first punk rock record. It was the soundtrack to a documentary called The Decline Of Western Civilization,” Grohl told the crowd.

“One of the bands that was on that record was The Germs. Perhaps the most influential punk rock band in American hardcore punk rock history, that was my first punk rock record. And now, I get to spend every night rocking with this guy,” Grohl said in reference to Pat Smear.

“We’d like to do a Germs song. Usually I try to sing it, but I’ve never been in The Germs. But tonight, fortunately, we have someone who was in The Germs,” Grohl added before introducing Shane West.

“Everybody, give it up for fuckin’ Shane who’s gonna come out and sing with us. Shane West — he’s the other Crash Darby.”

Shane West starred as late Germs frontman Darby Crash in What We Do Is Secret, a 2008 biopic about the band. West toured with The Germs as frontman between 2005 and 2009.

Foo Fighters went on to close out Nissan Stadium with “Everlong.” Fireworks filled the sky as the band performed the song.
