The Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Pump It’ Pushes Past 1 Billion Views on YouTube

Trending on Billboard

More than 20 years after its release, The Black Eyed Peas“Pump It” has been welcomed into YouTube‘s Billion Views Club.

The music video for the 2005 release becomes the group’s fourth to hit the milestone, the streaming giant reports, following “Where Is the Love?;” “RITMO,” their collaboration with J Balvin for the Bad Boys for Life soundtrack; and “My Humps,” which crossed the threshold in July.

The party-starter samples Dick Dale’s 1962 version of “Misirlou” and was housed on the Monkey Business (via A&M/Interscope) album, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and would’ve hit the summit were it not for Coldplay’s X&Y. “Pump It” became the group’s fourth consecutive top 20 single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 18.

The hip-hop outfit pumped it up in 2011 when they performed the track and others during their Super Bowl halftime show.

Shot in Los Angeles, the music video features a customized Honda Civic Hybrid with Black Eyed Peas graphics, a car that was later presented as a prize during the 2006 Honda Civic Tour.

The song has had several lives, including a remix, “Pump It Harder,” for the deluxe edition of the act’s fifth studio album, the Billboard 200 leader The E.N.D. (from 2009). Also, Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto made a high-energy EDM cut, “Pump It Louder,” which dropped in 2022 and was released on his studio album Drive.

Black Eyed Peas had a new look, new sound when Fergie exited in 2018, shifting her focus toward solo projects and motherhood. Ever since, the Black Eyed Peas continued to release music and tour as a trio, all the while maintaining that the split was amicable. The group’s most recent album, Elevation, was released in 2022.

Then, in December 2025, Fergie hinted at a happy reunion when she shared photos on Instagram showing herself alongside will.i.am, Taboo and Apl.de.Ap as they gathered to celebrate their milestone birthdays.

In May of this year, it happened when the classic lineup reunited publicly onstage for a surprise appearance at the American Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena while accepting the best throwback song award for “Rock That Body.”
