Rayland Baxter Outlines 2027 North American ‘True Violet’ Tour

Rayland Baxter announced a 2027 North American tour in support of his forthcoming album, True Violet. The 25-date run begins January 20 at Terminal West in Atlanta and concludes March 13 at the Gothic Theatre near Denver.

The first leg includes stops in Washington D.C., New York City, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis and Baxter’s hometown of Nashville, among other cities. Following a brief break, the tour resumes February 25 in Houston and heads to the West Coast for shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Portland. Details for a March 12 performance have yet to be announced.

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. local time.

Along with the tour announcement, Baxter released “Bolly Plateau,” the third preview of True Violet. The accompanying official video was filmed in the Tennessee hills where Baxter wrote the song and much of the album.

Baxter explained the setting and inspiration behind “Bolly Plateau”:

I refer to the hilltop on which I live as Bolly Plateau, my little cabin at the near end of a dead end street. It’s quiet up here. I wave to my neighbors and keep to myself, just like everyone else. And I go through the emotions mostly alone up here. Looking out to the street, I reminisce and I feel everything on Bolly Plateau. I sure am grateful to have this place. I write here and I dream here and I take it all in the best way I know how. Lately the reminiscing I’ve been doing is mostly focused on the last 5 years of my life and my transformation.

Due October 23 through ATO Records, True Violet is Baxter’s first album since 2022’s If I Were A Butterfly. Nick Waterhouse and Paul Butler co-produced the 11-track record, which was sequenced by Baxter’s friend Shakey Graves. “Bolly Plateau” follows previously released singles “Better Man” and “The Fool.”
