moe. celebrated the 30th anniversary year of No Doy by performing their 1996 studio album in its entirety on Saturday at the Adirondack Independence Music Festival. The longtime ADK headliners also welcomed fellow festival performers Daniel Donato, Reid Genauer and Rob Compa over the course of four sets on Friday and Saturday at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George, New York.

moe. devoted Saturday’s first set to the opening seven tracks of No Doy, starting with “She Sends Me” and continuing through “32 Things,” “St. Augustine,” “Bring You Down,” “Rebubula,” “Spine Of A Dog” and “Moth.” The band then picked up where it left off by opening the second set with “Buster” and “Four” to complete the nine-song album in sequence.

Released on October 15, 1996, No Doy was moe.’s first major-label album. Several songs from the LP, including “Rebubula,” “Moth,” “Buster” and “32 Things,” are staples of the band’s live repertoire.

Neighbor guitarist Rob Compa emerged after “Four” to join moe. for a nearly 21-minute “meat.” that closed Saturday’s second set. While “meat.” didn’t appear on No Doy, the band put out a 45-minute studio version in September 1996 as their first release for Sony. The sextet returned to pair a cover of Jethro Tull’s “Locomotive Breath” with “Wind It Up” for the encore.

Friday’s performance was highlighted by Daniel Donato and Assembly of Dust frontman Reid Genauer teaming with moe. on the Grateful Dead’s “Deal” to close the first set. Donato, Genauer and guitarist Al Schnier shared lead vocal duties on the cover before Donato and Schnier traded guitar leads.

moe. kicked off Friday’s first set with an unfinished “New Hope For The New Year” that gave way to “Not Coming Down” and “Wormwood.” “Deal” followed “Billy Goat” to cap the frame. The second set featured “Band In The Sky,” “New York City,” “Yellow Tigers” and a “Bullet” > “Timmy Tucker” pairing before “Silver Sun” served as the encore.

moe. have become fixtures at the Adirondack Independence Music Festival, headlining the Lake George event each year since 2021. The band’s four sets came on the first two days of the 11th annual festival, which concluded Sunday with Dogs In A Pile playing two sets.
