Dogs In A Pile capped the 2026 Adirondack Independence Music Festival on Sunday with two sets at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George, New York. The festival co-headliners welcomed Karl Denson for a guest spot during the first set.
Denson, who performed with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe earlier in the day, emerged after “Nicolette” to add saxophone to “My Disguise.” The collaboration appears to mark the first time Denson has sat in with Dogs In A Pile.
“My Disguise” has previously received the guest-saxophone treatment. Nick Gerlach joined Dogs In A Pile on the song aboard Jam Cruise 21 in February 2025. The Jeremy Kaplan-penned track was later included on the band’s 2025 studio album, Distroid.
Sunday’s first set began with the return of “Back to the Start,” which Dogs In A Pile hadn’t played in 180 shows dating back to March 20, 2025. The song kicked off a sequence that continued with “Little Things” and “The Bag.” The opening frame also included “This Little Light Of Mine” and concluded with a nearly 20-minute “Charlie.”
Dogs opened the second set with “Samba For Sam” and reprised the song after “Tillie.” A cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “I Know A Little,” along with lengthy versions of “Chop Shop” and “Thomas Duncan, Pt. 3,” were also featured before the quintet encored with the traditional Sunday Sermon of “Samson And Delilah.”
This year’s Adirondack Independence Music Festival also saw moe. revisit their 1996 album No Doy and team with Daniel Donato, Reid Genauer and Rob Compa.
