In less than a decade since her breakout single “Bodak Yellow” shot to the top of the Billboard charts, Cardi has made an undeniable impact on the global music landscape. She’s filled the record books with accomplishments, including in Canada, where she has racked up 46 charting songs on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, including eight top 10 hits. This year’s Little Miss Drama Tour was a completely sold-out arena tour throughout North America, another historic feat for a female rapper, including highlight shows at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and Hamilton’s TD Coliseum.

In a career full of accolades, she has maintained her unfiltered, vulnerable and often hilarious charisma and her impeccable style — which she will bring to Billboard Canada Women In Music — as well as her unbreakable flow, which merges seamlessly with hard-hitting beats, pop hooks and Latin rhythms.

This year’s third edition of Billboard Canada Women In Music will be more global than ever, bringing together Canada’s most exciting musicians with the biggest names across the world — as well as luminaries from across the music industry.

Melissa Bubb-Clarke will accept this year’s Executive of the Year award, one of the Canadian music industry’s biggest honours.

As chief commercial officer, Bubb-Clarke has been a driving force behind a prosperous period of growth for Live Nation Canada. Since joining the country’s biggest live music and entertainment company in 2024, she has been a key figure in multiple major initiatives through partnerships and commercial strategy: the transformation of RBC Amphitheatre, the second season of Toronto’s biggest concert venue Rogers Stadium, the opening of HISTORY Ottawa and major festivals throughout the country.

Kristy Fletcher has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Impact Award.

The president of education charity MusiCounts and chief operating officer of CARAS, the academy behind the Juno Awards, Fletcher is dedicated to strengthening Canadian music — not just celebrating the creators of today, but empowering the next generation through equitable access to musical education. At Billboard Canada Women In Music 2026, she will be honoured for her positive influence on young musicians.

Drake Extends His Billboard Canadian Albums Chart Record with 17th No. 1 Album, ‘Habibti’

Drake has extended his chart record in his home country.

The Toronto superstar’s album, Habibti, re-enters the Billboard Canadian Albums chart at No. 1 on the Oct. 17 chart date. It becomes his 17th chart-topping project in his home country, extending his record for the most No. 1 albums in Canada.

His latest chart milestone follows the deluxe FOMO edition release of Habibti, which added four more tracks to the album. Habibti was part of a trio of albums dropped on the same day in May, alongside Iceman and Maid of Honour. At the time, Iceman brought Drake his 16th No. 1 album in Canada and broke him out of a tie with Céline Dion and Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums in the country. Now, he has a two-album cushion over both artists.

The four new tracks were previewed during the rapper’s FOMO livestream. They have all landed on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, dated Oct. 17. He earns three top-10 entries with the deluxe songs, led by “Quebec” at No. 5, the “Solar Eclipse” with Don Toliver at No. 6 (which interpolates Ella Langley’s record-breaking smash hit “Choosin’ Texas”) and “Cold Shoulder,” which features Toliver and singer Yebba, at No. 7.

The last deluxe track, “Classic PT2,” is an extended version of “Classic,” which debuted on Habibti in May. It re-enters at No. 17, previously peaking at No. 4.

Elsewhere in the top 20, Iceman‘s “Janice STFU” rises one spot to No. 13. Further down, Drake scores four re-entries on the Canadian Hot 100, including: “WNBA” (No. 65), “I’m Spent,” ft. Loe Shimmy (No. 69), The Qendresa-featuring “Slap the City” (No. 82) and “High Fives” (No. 90).

He has nine total songs on this week’s Canadian Hot 100.

Ella Langley is also back to chasing history as “Choosin’ Texas” rises back to No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100.

After Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” dethroned the country singer for one week, “Choosin’ Texas” has found its way back to the top spot. This marks the track’s 22nd non-consecutive week at the top. The song now sits three weeks behind Shaboozey’s record-breaking hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which spent 25 weeks at No. 1, for the most weeks ever spent at No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Langley has surpassed a slew of artists in her push for the longest-leading No. 1 song in Canada. She just passed Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” which spent 21 weeks at the top, to own the No. 2 spot in the record book. Behind those, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” held No. 1 for 19 weeks and “As It Was” by Harry Styles sat atop the chart for 18 weeks.

Live Nation to Relocate Obstructed Ticket Holders Attending Backstreet Boys Concerts in Toronto

Fans who have partial-view seats for Backstreet Boys’ Toronto concerts might be getting an upgrade.

The record-breaking boy band has recently become a hot topic in the city after they announced their forthcoming Into the Millennium – Homecoming: Live in Canada concerts in Toronto. Initially slated for four nights at Rogers Centre, the run has extended to 12 nights, from Feb. 12 to March 7. The number of shows set a new record for the most-played shows at the stadium, surpassing records by The Weeknd and Taylor Swift.

But some fans might not have known they wouldn’t have their ideal view of members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson on the stadium stage.

After certain fans bought tickets during the presale windows, they later went back and saw that the venue map was updated to flag obstructed areas that were in the same sections they had purchased in.

The ticket discrepancy pushed fans to speak out online against Ticketmaster and Live Nation, the partner of the ticketing company, which have started the process of amending the situation.

A spokesperson for Live Nation tells Billboard Canada that the obstructed view sections in the venue were flagged to them after the initial presale dates.

“We understand the concerns raised by some of our fans,” they say. “Following the initial onsales for the Backstreet Boys Toronto Residency, additional production details identified potential sightline concerns. Out of an abundance of caution, additional seats were subsequently flagged as possibly having obstructed views.”

The spokesperson notes that once the situation was identified, they acted quickly, “reviewing affected seating locations and implementing a plan to address them. Fans whose seats are impacted will be proactively relocated to comparable full-view locations in advance of their show. We expect to begin reaching out to affected fans in the coming days with additional information.”

Since the discovery, Live Nation has emailed fans to notify them that their tickets have been flagged “as potentially having a partially obstructed view while the show’s production is being finalized. Your seats may be affected, but this hasn’t yet been confirmed.”

The message continues: “We understand how frustrating it is to receive this information after purchasing your tickets. The Event Organizers are confirming which seats are affected and working on a solution.”
