Out today from aespa is “WDA (Whole Different Animal) (Feat. G-DRAGON),” the lead single from their forthcoming album, Lemonade. The K-pop group’s highly anticipated sophomore full-length record arrives on May 29 via SM Entertainment.
The hip-hop-infused dance cut finds the members of aespa — Giselle, Karina, Winter and Ningning — singing about the start of a new era and transitioning into a “whole different animal.” BIGBANG frontman G-Dragon shows off his signature rap style and first appears in the accompanying video as the voice of a horse.
aespa continues to expand upon the long-running narrative about the coexistence of their real-world identities as aespa and their virtual counterparts, æ-aesp, in the “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” video. “By blurring the boundaries between original and replica, reality and virtuality, the video naturally invites viewers to question what is real,” as per a press release.
