Zac Brown Band mixed a family connection into a guest-filled concert at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina on Friday. Along with appearances by Grace Potter and fiddler Casey Driessen, the October 9 stop on the Love & Fear Tour featured Jimmy De Martini’s son James singing the band’s debut cover of Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger.”
Potter returned after her opening set to lead Zac Brown Band through “The Lion The Beast The Beat” midway through the first set. The title track of her band’s 2012 album has been a recurring collaboration during the tour, including when she joined ZBB in Philadelphia in August.
Driessen subsequently sat in on “I’m Working On A Building/Free Born Man.” The fiddler reflected on his longstanding friendship with the musicians in an Instagram post accompanying photos from Greenville.
“Pleasure to share the stage with my pals in the Zac Brown Band last night in Greenville SC,” Driessen wrote. “Thankful to still be crossing paths, hanging, and making music for over 10 yrs.”
James De Martini’s turn at the microphone came early in the second set, following “Jump Right In” and “Same Boat.” The son of ZBB’s longtime fiddler fronted the group on “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” which Oasis released as a single in 1996.

ZBB rounded out the second set with staples including “Day That I Die,” “Knee Deep” and “Chicken Fried.” A covers-filled encore ranged from “Let’s Get It On” and “Loser” to “Chandelier” and “American Pie” before ending with “Free Bird.”
