The Black Keys appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday. The blues rockers rolled through their recent single, “You Got To Lose.”
The track appears on The Black Keys’ new album, Peaches!, which arrived on May 1 via Easy Eye Sound/Warner Records. Well-documented vinyl heads, The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney discovered much of the material on the blues covers album while crate digging for their Record Hang DJ-set dance parties.
“I’d look for 45s specifically to play at the record hangs,” Auerbach stated, “but sometimes I’d find a song and think, ‘This might be fun for Pat and me to play live.’”
“You Got To Lose” was originally written by Ike Turner in the late 1950s and popularized by Earl Hooker in 1969. The Black Keys’ heralded Peaches! with their studio version of the song back in February. Watch Dan, Patrick and company perform “You Got To Lose” on Fallon below:
