The Black Crowes kicked off their 2026 tour itinerary at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday. The rockers delivered two live debuts and a pair of breakouts during their first concert of the year.
Crowes co-founders vocalist Chris Robinson and guitarist Rich Robinson began the show with the premiere performance of “Profane Prophecy,” the opener off their new album A Pound Of Feathers. “Profane Prophecy” arrived as a preview for the record in January along with another track, “Pharmacy Chronicles,” which The Black Crowes unveiled in the sixth song slot in Melbourne.
Just ahead of the “Pharmacy Chronicles” debut, the band broke out “Movin’ On Down The Line.” The track appears on The Black Crowes 2008 LP, Warpaint. The Melbourne play marked the first performance of the song since 2013.
The Crowes also offered a bevy of older favorites such as “Sting Me” “She Talks to Angels,” “Twice as Hard,” “Jealous Again,” “Thorn in My Pride,” “Wiser Time” and set-closer “Remedy.”
The Black Crowes returned to encore with a massive bust out, a cover of Faces “Three Button Hand Me Down.” Closing out the short-lived but highly influential rock band’s 1970 debut album First Step, the last time Black Crowes played the song came in 1990.
