Bruce Hornsby shared the title track and lead single from his forthcoming album, Indigo Park, which is set for release on April 3 via Zappo Productions/Thirty Tigers. Hornsby also revealed the 10-song set includes guest appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig and late Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir.
Produced by Tony Berg, Will Maclellan and Bruce Hornsby, Indigo Park is described in press materials as “a collection of 10 songs that oscillate between extremes – light and dark, memory and fantasy, calm and rage, doubt and certainty.” Hornsby is backed on the album by his longtime band The Noisemakers along with guitarist Blake Mills, bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Chris Dave.
Bruce Hornsby fit two songs he co-wrote with the late Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter onto the follow-up to 2024’s Deep Sea Vents: “Alabama” and “Might As Well Be Me, Florinda.” The latter track features contributions from Bob Weir and Blake Mills, while “Memory Place” features Ezra Koenig and “Ecstatic” features Bonnie Raitt.
“It’s just an old bastard, looking back. To be honest, I’ve found a way, a path to grow old gracefully, with help from some newborn friends of mine,” said of an album he began work on as he was turning 70 in 2024.
