Bruce Springsteen Breaks Out Clash Cover With Tom Morello At The Forum

Bruce Springsteen‘s Land Of Hope And Dreams Tour with Tom Morello rolled into the latter’s adopted hometown of Los Angeles on Tuesday. The first of two concerts at the Kia Forum saw Springsteen, Morello and The E Street Band breaking out a cover from The Clash.

Following a take on the The Temptations “War,” Springsteen mega-hit “Born In The U.S.A.” and latter-day Bruce tune “Death To My Hometown,” all with Morello, Springsteen and The E Street Band delivered The Clash’s “Clampdown.”

The song originally appears on the punk legends’ landmark 1979 album, London Calling. Bruce and company debuted The Clash cover in 2014 when they performed it six times before it dropped off setlists.

The Rage Against The Machine guitarist also joined Bruce and the band for “American Skin (41 Shots),” “Long Walk Home,” “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” “Badlands” and “Land of Hope and Dreams,” the latter closing out the main set.

The encore began with a trio of Springsteen classics “Born to Run,” “Bobby Jean” and “Dancing in the Dark.” Tom then returned to help seal the show with “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes Of Freedom.”
