Written by Last year, British electronic producer Actress and modular synthesis pioneer Suzanne Ciani performed an improvised piece titled Concrète Waves at the Barbican theatre in London and Barcelona’s Sónar Festival. Now, with less than a day’s notice, the artists have released a live album of both sets via Werkdiscs, and you can listen to it below.
According to press materials, Concrète Waves is “the first in a new series by Werkdiscs capturing improvised musical conversations between two avant-garde icons.”
Actress’ last solo album, Statik, came out in 2024. In the fall, he and Ciani will stage Concrète Waves at festivals in Nantes, France and The Hague.
