Sierra Ferrell is back with her first new music of 2026. “Trying To Love You” arrived today through Rounder Records.
The fresh track follows Ferrell’s Grammy-winning 2024 album, Trail Of Flowers. A deluxe edition arrived in 2025 along with a string of singles and collaborations. The singer-songwriter has been busy supporting the record on her Heavy Petal Tour.
“Trying To Love You” sees contributions from Gabriel Kelley (percussion, keyboards, guitars), Matty Meyer (drums), Billy Contreras (fiddle), Pat Bergeson (harmonica) and Viktor Krauss (bass). Backing vocalists Oliver Bates Craven, Geoff Saunders, Joshua Rilko and Gabriel Kelley round out the ensemble.
Press materials described “Trying To Love You” as “the story of a homebound journey filled with fine lines, lingering questions and memories of someone slipping through her hands. Told in a voice that soars to the heavens with her signature, singular sound and soul-stirring style.”
