Written by The xx returned to the stage on Friday (April 3), playing their first show as a trio in eight years at Mexico City’s Pepsi Center WTC. Romy, Jamie xx, and Oliver Sim performed 19 songs from across their group and individual catalogs. Find the full setlist, as well as footage and photos from the show, below.
Although the xx teased the concert as a “next chapter,” they reached deep into their catalog to craft a career-surveying performance. In front of a hazy, dark backdrop, the trio included music from 2009’s xx, 2012’s Coexist, and 2018’s I See You. They opened with “Crystalised,” closed things out with ”Infinity,” and used the encore to debut their first-ever live performance of “Seasons Run.”
The band also covered songs from all three members’ solo repertoires, including Romy’s ”Enjoy Your Life” and Sim’s “GMT.” But Jamie’s catalog received the most love, with the group playing his Gil Scott-Heron collab “I’ll Take Care of U,” “Loud Places,” and ”Waited All Night,” which features both his xx bandmates and appeared on his 2025 album, In Waves.
Friday’s performance was the first of three shows the band played in Mexico City. The trio now has a number of festival slots lined up, including headlining spots at Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, and Outside Lands, as well as a Coachella set. Although they have yet to officially announce a follow up to I See You, the band has reportedly been working on one since 2023, and posted new footage of the members in the studio this year. In 2025, they released a deluxe version of their debut album, which included new bonus tracks, a cover of Aaliyah’s “Hot Like Fire,” and more.
